- 2024: Round table and discussion with the public on AI, generated contents, and their detection, with Olivier Lascar at the Bar des sciences (a monthly round table to make science topics accessible to the public, and answer their questions. Sponsored by the CNES, CEA, CNRS and the Société Française de Physique)
- 2024: Demo at the European Broadcasting Union AI Summit, showcasing the above-mentioned fact-checking plugin and the Database of Known Fakes, to easily verify if a specific claim has already been debunked.
- 2024: Presentation at the EPFL AI days (Archive) to raise awareness about deepfakes, the risks they pose, and ways to detect them.
- 2024: Presentation at the European Broadcasting Union Data Technology Seminar 2024, “the EBU’s annual flagship event for practitioners in data and AI for media.” The talk aimed at highlighting the importance of, and ways to achieve reliability and explainability in fact-checking operations, and was given to a broad audience of more than 200 journalists, fact-checkers, media and data companies.
- 2024: Tutorial at the Université Paris-Saclay library on AI-generated images detection, to a general audience as well as students of all fields.
- 2023: Tutorial at the Université Paris-Saclay library on image forgery detection, to a general audience as well as students of all fields.
- 2022: Presentations on fake news and fact-checking at the French “Fête de la science” (French science festival) to primary and middle school students.
- 2020: Provided methods on demosaicing-based image forgery detection to the French Scientific Police. I frequently collaborate with them since then.
Long-term initiatives
- 2020 – : Contributed to the media verification plugin for fact-checkers, called by the Poynter Institute (home of the International Fact-Checking Network) “One of the most powerful tools for spotting misinformation online”, providing methods, visualization and presentation of results.
